  • Find the Bogey Hole at Newcastle Beach. It’s a hand-hewn ocean rock pool carved out of a cliff face by convicts in the 19th century. Make sure you take a plunge in the big pool.
  • Dine out in Beaumont Street in Hamilton. Every cuisine imaginable.
  • Walk the Bathers Way, a rolling hill 5-km coastal walk from Nobbys Light House to Meriwether. Take some water!
  • See a variety of bird species plus koalas, kangaroos and wombats at Blackbutt Reserve, or visit the many waterways like Honeysuckle reserve.

Lookout for beaches such as Nobbies Beach, Newcastle City, Beach Bar beach, Dixon Park Beach, Merewether Beach, and Stockton Beach. These are all petrolled beaches so they are safe to take the whole family, but that’s not all. You also have some of the best Ocean baths in the world, actually Merewether Beach Ocean Baths are the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere.
