Cassowary – Another bird that can really ruin your day. With
three powerful claws this large bird will jump, kick and gut you. Not
fun and definitely one Australian to stay out of the way of.

Kangaroo – Cute little fluffy kangaroo, you say. Tell that to
the countless tourists who get ripped to shreds by a kangaroo lashing
out with its back feet. They have been known to gut hunting dogs from
chest to tail. Be careful.

Magpie – Sure, a cute little bird can’t possibly be a danger. Tell that to the three Australians who are blinded every year by these birds getting territorial and dive bombing passers-by.

Blue Ringed Octopus – Before you sit down in that beautiful rock
pool on the beach to soak up the sun and sand, just check around the
edges. Getting bitten by one of these bad boys can ruin your whole day
and will definitely see you in hospital and in a worse case scenario in
the morgue.

Box Jellyfish - You’re quietly swimming in the northern parts of Australia and suddenly you find yourself entangled in hundreds of poisonous tentacles. A few minutes later you start having difficulty breathing. It’s time to get your ass to the hospital, if you can make it.

Stonefish – You probably won’t even see this dangerous Australian. That is, until you stand on it. Then you might very well become a statistic.

Cone Shell – If we told you that collecting shells in Australia could be a dangerous business, would you believe us? The animal that lives inside the humble cowrie shell can deliver enough poison to put you in hospital. Ouch.

Sea Lion – This one is rare, but a few people do get attacked in the southern areas of Australia when they get too close to these animals. They are big. They are aggressive. Stay away.

Bull Ants - Don’t laugh. A  Victorian farmer was killed by a hive of Bull Ants a few years ago. Just be careful where you put your picnic. But don’t worry, when the first one bites you common sense and searing pain should tell you the right course of action. ie. RUN!

Water Buffalo – If you get too close, they will charge you. That means 1 ton of muscle, meat and bone on top of your skinny ass. Not as fun as it sounds!
