Tallows Beach Byron BayTallow Beach

Tallow’s as know by locals is a long majestic stretch of coastline that runs from the Byron Lighthouse south all the way to Broken Head Beach. You will find the North end under the lighthouse is called Cosy Corner Beach. Tallow’s is very popular with surfers and fishermen and even dolphins. It’s very coming to go for a swim or a surf and be sharing the pristine blue water with the local dolphin crew.

Wategos Beach Byron BeachWategos beach

A picture perfect and idealic location sits Wategos beach. Wategos and it’s sister beach - little Wategos are a slice of paradise. It has one of the best climates in the work, stunning pristine beaches and an A list - including Rolling Stones front-man Mick Jagger - to rival anywhere… The surf is not too exposed to big seas and currents so the surfing is safe for every level. There is good swimming to, that’s if you don’t mind sharing with the locals.

Clarkes Beach Byron Bay NSWClarkes (Clarks) Beach

Located between the very popular and crowded Main Beach and The tip of Main Beach The Pass sites Clarks Beach. North facing it misses most of the strong winterly weather patterns entering from the south and enjoys stunning conditions most of the year. Clarks beach is patrolled with an extra lifesaving team in the Summer.

The Pass Byron BayThe Pass

The Pass is the small gap between Fisherman’s Lookout and the main headland, it’s more a surf spot then an actual beach. It enjoys being Byron Bays and the regions premier surfing location. Waves have been know to peal off for hundreds of meters, it’s also a right hander that makes is easier for most surfers as they are not surfing on their backhand stance. You can also check the surf out from Fishermans lookout which is a small wooden platform.

Main Beach Byron BayMain Beach

Characterised by the surf club and Byron’s famous Beach Hotel Main Beach is Obviously the most popular beach in Byron Bay it is the heart and soul of Byron Bay. Located end the end of the town it’s very accessible and perfect for a swim after shopping or a cold beer. The surf is patrolled all the warmer summer months and there are flags to swim between for inexperienced swimmer.

Belongil Beach Byron BayBelongil Beach

Belongil Beach is mainly known as a nudist beach were cloths are an optional extra - parents beware taking your children there as you might a surprise. Also popular with dog owners where you can take your god off the lead. Belongil Beach stretches from Byrons Bay Main Beach to the South East and
Brunswick Heads to the North-West. Also check out the SS Wollongbar which is a great place to explore with a mask and snorkel when the seas are slight.

Cosy Corner Byron BayCosy Corner

Cosy Corner is a little slice of paradise that is tucked away under the lighthouse on Cape Byron. I have been here many times and been swimming with the friendly dolphins. It’s also a good spot to score some quality waves due to the solid sand banks where waves to to form a nice sharp peak. No fishing is allowed here as it’s protected by the Arakwal National Park. Also keep an eye out for the hang-gliders that are swooping from their launching pad overhead near the light house.

Little Wategos Beach Byron BayLittle Wategos

Positioned right at the end of Cape Byron most easterly point under the Lighthouse sits Wategos sister beach - Little Wategos beach. It’s enjoyed by the locals for it’s fishing off the rocks. It’s an excellent spot of swimming mainly in the winter as it is north facing it avoids most of the strong Southerly winds. As with Wategos beach there are many multi-million dollar homes and exotic restaurants which have mad it a strong attraction for the rich and famous. It’s not accessible by car.
